From Here 2 Timbuktu offers you African adventure travel off the beaten track in regions of Africa that I know very well. My main area of expertise is the Sahara and West Africa. I have recently added journeys in Tanzania and across southern Africa.

The idea behind the company was inspired by personal journeys made over 20 years of travelling this enormous, original and inspiring continent. From Here 2 Timbuktu reaches parts of the continent no one else can reach - because they haven't been there and I have!

My aim is to offer you access to communities and regions I know and where I have an enduring relationships with the people.

In all my Destinations I can organise your African adventure travel trip on a bespoke basis at any time of year.

Under Trips are my set small group trips, most of which I lead. The trips are listed in the order that they occur on my own personal 6 month journey from the UK across the Sahara desert and around West Africa, starting in the autumn with the Sahara Overland journey (UK to Timbuktu) and ending up in Cameroon in April with Dzanga Sangha Gorilla safari and the Kingdom at the End of the Road. This year I am hopping out of West Africa in December to go east to run my new Tanzania Rift Valley Safari.

The last few trips in the list - Cruise Senegal, Caribbean Water Safari and Lake Of The Stars: Southern Africa Overland - are organised on a bespoke basis at any time of year and are not guided by me.

After 6 months of desert heat and sandy roads I gasp for water. I am lucky enough to spend my off season in the Caribbean, and this is where my Caribbean Water Safari comes in.
