Tanzania – Wildlife, Landscapes and Nomads in the Cradle of Humanity

Let me hook you up with my brother who is a a wildlife vet in the Serengeti National Park. He lives on the slopes of Mount Meru. Together we will send you on an off-the-beaten-track journey through the Great Rift Valley.

This is more than just a wildlife safari. Your journey will take you through the Massai and Hadzabe region of the rift valley where the pristine natural world of the Serengeti meets the human world of pastoralists and hunter gathers, a dynamic that goes back to the beginning of time.

You will be at a loss to know which takes your breath away more, the majestic landscapes and endless skies, the fascinating cultures or the humbling chance to get up close to my own guaranteed “Big Five”:

  • The elephants of Tarangire
  • Lake Eyasi and the Hadzabe bushmen
  • The lions of the Serengeti
  • Volcano-hopping from Ngorongoro to Empkaai with the Masai
  • Lake Natron eco-camp spring spa with “flamingos, camels, 117,000 year old footprints and toe nibbling fish in your private spring bath.”

From waterfalls to wild birds and animals, the delights of Tanzania are quite simply unforgettable and sure to help you fall in love with one of Africa’s most enchanting regions.

The accommodation on this trip, includes some standard, catered camping, some high standard eco camping, a private home stay and a stay in a guest house. For those who would like lodge accommodation throughout, this can be arranged but is more expensive. Most food is included on this trip.

Choose an 11-day or 14-day trip, from $2950pp or $3850pp respectively. We are now in the middle of one of the perfect times of year to visit, which ranges from November to April (and again from June to September). Seize your chance and start the year by creating memories of an African trip that will last a lifetime.
